A hot soup for a cold day.
It is nearly the end of April, the Queen and our friend Roti Boy celebrate their birthdays today, and everyone is back at work and school.
Diary: Sunday 29 November
A cold morning calls for a hot cup of tea.
Today, this is served from a flask at a lacrosse match.
This is a continuation of last night’s Dinner with Friends.
Having made the Tarte au Chocolat, attention turned to the vegetables hanging around in our kitchen, waiting for their turn to be made into something delicious.
Gochugaru Girl invited some friends for an early Chinese New Year dinner last night.
Chinese New Year traditionally lasts for two weeks. This year it falls on 19 February. We simply decided to start celebrating (i.e. eating) a bit earlier.
Gochugaru Girl is not much of a gardener. This is because there is not much of a garden where she lives, close to the centre of London. About the only thing which can be accommodated in the tiny patio is a large tub of herbs. Even then she has to worry about voracious insects that attack the tender leaves with impunity.
If God had put me in the Garden of Eden with the task of working it and keeping it, I wonder if I would have risen to the challenge. I suspect I would have said to Adam that, actually, God had asked him to manage the horticultural side of things. Remember, I am merely his helper*.
