Cashew Nuts with Sesame and Gochugaru

Gochugaru Girl is still watching City Hunter.

Lee Yoon-sung, and his alter ego City Hunter, has to up his game as the stakes get higher.

Whether you are a nail-biter or a teeth-clencher, try some of these roasted cashews when the tension in the drama subsides to a manageable level.

These nuts are milder than the Spicy Sichuan Macadamia Nuts.

A bit of fudge or popcorn would also be good, and if I can get away from the screen I will make some and post the recipe soon.

 

For the Nuts:

(1 tablespoon = 3 teaspoons, if you are scaling down)

300 g cashew nuts

1 tablespoon untoasted sesame seeds

1 tablespoon light brown muscovado sugar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon gochugaru

1 teaspoon crushed garlic

1 teaspoon salt

 

You will need a flat baking tray.

 

How to Make:

Preheat the oven to 180°C/ 350ºF/ Gas 4.

Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix thorough evenly.

Pour the nuts onto the tray in a single layer.

Roast for 20 minutes.

Remove the nuts from the oven and cool before serving.

Store any extra nuts in an airtight container.
