Kew Gardens – A Late Spring Walk

I have confidence in sunshine
I have confidence in rain
I have confidence that Spring will come again!

We’ve had the rain, lots of it, and now it’s time for sunshine and Spring.

I have loved Kew Gardens since the start of my university days in London, when it cost 15 pence to enter. This was considered a real price hike as entry was 10 pence just before that, and a symbolic 1 penny prior to 1980.

These photos were taken on one of the hottest days in May when the temperatures in Kew Gardens reached 34.8 C. Walking around the gardens reminded me of walking in the Singapore Botanic Gardens but with less humidity.

With the weather expected to cool down in the days to come, and as the days grow longer, it would be a good time to consider a picnic in Kew under the protective shade of their magnificent trees. I am looking forward to our next visit as there is still plenty more to see.
